2 – 6 Jul 2018 | Singapore
We were privileged to partner with the Singapore American School (SAS) Debate Club, to organise a Summer Learning programme for middle school students. The objective: To impart a core set of critical thinking, close listening, and persuasive speaking skills. Even though most participants did not have prior public speaking or debate experience, they were able to deliver individual speeches between 5-6 minutes in length by the end of the week. Participants were engaged in lively discussions of real-world local issues which range from ‘banning Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs)’ to a spirited debate: ‘if Singapore should take in refugees’.
We also had a blast working with seniors from the SAS Debate Club who were student mentors in the camp!
Check out how much fun we had below!
