About RedDot Juniors Online Debate Competition
Take this opportunity to learn from fellow students around the world! This competition allows your child to learn from other debaters and gain an exposure to critical thinking and public speaking.
The two-day Round-Robin debate competition for ages 7 – 12 will consist of 5 Rounds of high-quality debates. Prizes and certificates will be given to all participants, and there will be a chance to receive top-notch feedback after every match!
This competition is held annually in December, suitable for children ages 7 – 12, no debating experience required.

This competition allows your child to have fun while learning the concepts of critical thinking, structuring their thoughts and ideas, and improving their confidence through public speaking.
As a debater, your child would be exposed to critical thinking, improving on their research skills, articulation, emotional control & public speaking from a young age. These invaluable skills would stay with your child and help them to grow and excel throughout their school and adult working life.
Details for the Competition
- Hosts: We are RedDot Education, a Debate, Drama and Public Speaking Academy based in Singapore
- Tournament Platform: Zoom, with Announcements relayed through Discord
- Dates/Times: First 3 prepared motions on the 2nd of December, while the remaining 2 impromptu motions of the Tournament will be held on the 3rd of December 2023, from 9:00am to 4:00pm (UTC+8)
- Debate Format: Modified WSDC Format (3 to 5 debaters per team, 4 minutes per speech, 2-minute reply speeches). Rounds 1, 2, 3 are prepared rounds. Rounds 4 & 5 are impromptu rounds.
- Tournament Capacity: 60 teams
- Registration Fee: The registration fee will be SGD 30 per individual / SGD 90 per team
- The competition is open for ages 7 – 12.
- Registration closes on 15th November 2023.

Learn foundational concepts and ideas that will come in handy in life and in essay topics, under the guidance of our knowledgeable coaches. Students from all levels can join in to learn about age-appropriate topics, as well as develop their individual critical thinking and argumentation skills.
Join our physical debate classes weekly at Agora Colearning classrooms.
Alternatively, you may opt for the virtual experience by enrolling in our online debate classes conducted via Zoom.

Day 1: 2nd December 2023, Saturday (UTC +8)
- 9:00am to 9:30am Roll Call of Debaters
- 9:30am to 10:15am Opening Ceremony and Tech briefing
- 10:15am to 11:45am Round 1 (Prepared)
- 11:45am to 12:45pm Lunch
- 1:00pm to 2:45pm Round 2 (Prepared)
- 2:45pm to 3:00pm Break
- 3:00pm to 4:30pm Round 3 (Prepared)
Day 2: 3rd December 2023, Sunday (UTC +8)
- 9:00am to 9:30am Roll Call of Debaters and Judges
- 9:30am to 11:30am Round 4 (Impromptu)
- 11:30am to 12:30pm Lunch
- 12:30pm to 2.30pm Round 5 (Impromptu)
- 2:30pm to 3:00pm Break (Tabulation of scores)
- 3:00pm to 3:30pm Prize Giving Ceremony
Competition Prizes
All competition participants would receive a certificate of participation, with trophies awarded to the top 3 teams and top speaker. Medals will also be given to the top 10 speakers.
Participation certificates can be used as supporting documents for school admission interviews, such as Direct School Admissions (DSA) into secondary schools offering debating.
